Here's your daily dose of Kansas City sports news....
Royals, White Sox get postponed
I"m not sure why the Royals and White Sox even started their game last night. On early Friday evening, the clouds were gathering around Kansas City and it looked very dark. It eventually started raining -- it rained out the Royals and White Sox game -- and plenty of lightning was around.
But the Royals and White Sox were postponed in the bottom of the first.
To make up the time, they'll be playing a doubleheader starting at 6:10 p.m. on Saturday. So, yeah, it could be a late night.

Chiefs play the Bucs tonight
The Chiefs have their second preseason game this evening against the Tampa Bay Bucs.
Things we're looking for: Matt Cassel to lead the offense to at least two scores, the starters playing an entire half, the defensive front seven to get some pressure on the quarterback, Thomas Jones to pound out a few carries and Dwayne Bowe to get involved.
Do the Chiefs need to win? It's just preseason but I say, yeah, they do.

Kale Pick the underdog
Matt Tait of KUSports.com has an interesting bit about the KU quarterback competition between Jordan Webb and Kale Pick.
The coaches never said it (nor would they), but you almost got the sense that, because of his arm strength, they wanted to give Webb every opportunity to win the quarterback job. Play-calling becomes a lot easier when you’ve got a guy who can stretch the field with a flick of his wrist.
Right. But it's a lot easier to go with the guy who doesn't turn it over and can motivate his teammates. That sounds like Pick.
