Wizards, Royals Getting Similar Crowds

Last week the Kansas City Royals hit their season low in attendance with just 9,732. That made me think of the Kansas City Wizards, who are drawing an average of over 10,000.

On Saturday they brought in 10,385 fans which was the sixth sellout of thee year and the third in a row. They play at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

They did it on Saturday night when there were plenty of other options including the Kansas City Chiefs game on T.V. and the Royals double header.

Sure they're different sports, different number of games and all that but I still find it interesting. There are some people in Kansas City who have invested a lot of money in soccer becoming more and more popular.

The Royals of course have a higher ceiling and they'll get over 30,000 for big games in the first half of the season. Meanwhile the Wizards will be debuting a stadium next year that can hold 18,500 folks.
