Missouri Tigers LB Will Ebner was arrested on suspicion of DWI early Sunday morning, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Department.
Per Dave Matter of the Columbia Tribune:
Ebner’s eyes were bloodshot and glassy and his speech was incoherent, according to the arrest report. He admitted he had been drinking and was cooperative, O’Sullivan said. The junior linebacker failed a breathalyzer test and was taken into custody at Boone County Jail where he posted $500 bond and was released.
Ebner was the No. 2 middle linebacker and hasn't been practicing for a week with a hamstring pull.
According to the Kansas City Star, MU officials are not commenting and said the situation will be handled internally.
SB Nation's Rock M Nation has this to say on Ebner:
Come on, dude. I mean, first of all ... I'm accepting of the fact that college students drink. I did. But ... the season has started! Put it aside for a little while. Second ... you're a football player. You know people. HAVE SOMEBODY ELSE DRIVE. So stupid. I assume the punishment will end up in the "one-game suspension" range, and in theory Mizzou won't need him against Illinois. But you're one of this team's few upper-classmen. Act like it.
