Royals' Billy Butler Taking A Few Days Off For Sore Hand

The Kansas City Royals will enter their weekend series against the Cleveland Indians on Friday without first baseman Billy Butler.

Royals manager Ned Yost told reporters Butler would take a few days off because of a sore hand.

"I’m going to give him at least two days off," manager Ned Yost said, "and I might give him the whole series off. He’s really struggling. His hand is really sore."

Yost says Butler isn't complaining about it but it's clearly affecting him. He has just two doubles and no home runs in his last ten games.

With Butler out, the Royals will have to rearrange a few things.

With Willie Bloomquist's big night on Wednesday, he could replace Butler in the lineup and play third base. That would move Kila Ka'aihue to first base and Wilson Betemit as the designated hitter.
