Kansas City Chiefs "offensive weapon" Dexter McCluster played four positions in the 20-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the third preseason game.
-
Wide receiver: He only had three catches and totaled zero yards. There wasn't much of an impact here but he did make a catch and get drilled by an Eagle. The good news is that he popped right back up.
- Running back: McCluster had eight carries for 47 yards including a 15-yard run. It's dangerous for the opponent when he gets into open space.
- Kick returner: Here's where McCluster really had a good night. He had three returns and averaged 37 yards. His long of the night was 41 yards. It was a solid night for him.
- Punt returner: Just one punt return for 14 yards. He said his "eyes lit up" when they asked him to return kicks and punts.
It's becoming clear that we can't pigeon-hole McCluster to just one position. He's taken more snaps at running back than he has receptions so his role is something to keep an eye on.
