Mizzou has had a rough month. Three members of the football program have been arrested for driving under the influence this month and another, RB Derrick Washington, has been charged with sexual assault.
Pinkel said on Monday that he was "kind of embarrassed" about the discipline issues, according to Dave Matter of the Columbia Tribune.
"We've worked real hard to develop and build a program I think that has a very good reputation of being first class and disciplined," he said. "And we've taken a few hits. The only way you're going to that back is to earn it back. That's what we intend to do."
Pinkel didn't comment on which players with legal issues -- Washington, Will Ebner and Beau Brinkley -- would play this weekend against Illinois.
