Cowtown Rundown: Kansas City Sports News 8/31

Cut down day is coming

The Kansas City Chiefs are facing cut down day. At 3 p.m. (CDT), they'll have to trim one more player from their roster. Today 80-man rosters must be cut to 75 players. The Chiefs released four players on Sunday so they've got one more roster move to go. It's possible they place one of their injured players on injured reserve as well.

On Saturday, Sept. 4, the Chiefs have to be down to 53 players so Thursday's game against the Green Bay Packers is pretty huge.

Jerrell Jackson's comeback

Mizzou WR Jerrell Jackson suffered an injury a few weeks ago causing some to think he could be out for not just the season opener but the first two weeks.

In reality, Jackson will be likely starting on Saturday against Mizzou if you believe his placement on the first team of the depth chart.

With his broken wrist, he'll be playing with a cast on his hand.

Kyle Davies, Royals get the loss against the Rangers

Not many highlights from this one as the Royals had just three hits.
