Former Chiefs Coach Dick Vermeil Open To Front-Office Role With The Rams

Stan Kroenke is attempting to buy the Rams from the Rosenbloom family and, if he does, Dick Vermeil might be interested in a position with the team, he told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

"I’ve never been approached by Stan Kroenke," Vermeil told the Post-Dispatch.

But if Kroenke calls, Vermeil would certainly listen.

"Oh yeah, I’d listen," Vermeil said. "There’s nobody in the United States more prepared to be an owner as Stan Kroenke. It’d be a crime for him not to end up with this football team."

Vermeil is a unique offensive mind and has clearly demonstrated in the last decade that when given the opportunity he can make an offensive juggernaut. But when I think front-office role, I think NFL draft. And Vermeil hasn't been part of a lot of great drafts.

From 2001-2005 while with the Chiefs, Vermieil and former GM Carl Peterson made 38 draft picks. Two are still with the team. The majority of those never panned out.
