Mark Cuban's Bid To Buy Rangers Fails; Why Not Buy The Royals?

New, 4 comments

Rumors have floated around Kansas City in recent weeks (albeit completely unconfirmed) that Royals owner David Glass has entertained the idea of selling the team.

↵

For Royals fans, this brought tears of joy. Many do not want Glass to own the team any longer because of a perception that he's cheap.

↵

Meanwhile, Mark Cuban, owner of the NBA's Mavericks, bid on the Texas Rangers and was beat out by another group.

↵

The question coming up in Kansas City is: Would Mark Cuban buy the Royals?

↵

This would be the best thing to happen to the team. Cuban has shown a willingness to spend the money necessary to win and money is more important in baseball than any of the other sports (which have salary caps).

↵

The chances of it happening are probably minuscule but it's worth dreaming about.
