Here's your daily dose of Kansas City sports news....

Royals fans rejoicing with Guillen move

The Royals designed Jose Guillen for assignment meaning within ten days he's no longer to be a Royal. It's not often I see Royals fans this ecstatic but everyone is pleased with the move by GM Dayton Moore.

Guillen was in the final year of a three-year, $36 million contract.

He played terrible in 2008, was hurt in 2009 and put up his "best" numbers in 2010 (for half a season).

That's wasted money.

Chiefs continue on with two-a-days Fridaiy

The Chiefs will have a two-a-day on Friday before the big Family Fun Day practice on Saturday.

Thursday's practice had some injuries going on: Darryl Harris went down (replaced by Ikechuku Ndukwe) while Wallace Gilberry was in the rehab zone with his leg wrapped.

Thomas Jones returned to the field.

Other than that, folks were talking about, who else, Dexter McCluster, He had another great practice.

You don't comment on recruits, huh, Bill?

Bill Self released a statement about the Josh Selby situation and said he doesn't talk about recruits until they get on campus.

Apparently Self doesn't realize that we have what's called the internet where many of his words are stored.

"We felt like losing the caliber players we lost off of last year's team, that we really needed to hit a home run from a talent standpoint in the spring signing and we've done that with Josh. He's a point guard that can score. He's a playmaker. He can be a great facilitator and also a great finisher himself. We've been really fortunate to have really good guards here, but certainly Josh is the most highly-recruited guard that we have signed since we have been at Kansas."

And....

"Josh is athletic, fast, can score, and he's ornery,'' Self said. "We just have to harness that energy. But he'll be terrific.''

Those are just the first two that popped up when I Googled "Bill Self comments on Josh Selby".

How come he's commenting on a recruit that's not yet on campus?

Speaking on NCAA investigations, what's up with Tony Mitchell and Ricardo Ratliffe?

Part of the reason some folks are saying this is one of Mizzou's better recruiting classes in history is Tony Mitchell and Ricardo Ratliffe.

Unfortunately, neither player is yet on campus. Both have issues with their high schools, transcripts and graduating.

They're both good players and it seems that those players these days are always investigated and come in with baggage.

I received an email about these two recently and my answer was: I have no idea what's going on with them
