History Says Mizzou Will Dominate McNeese State At Faurot Field

Mizzou and McNeese State will play in a 6:00 p.m. night game that should resemble the atmosphere surrounding Penn State and Alabama this evening.

OK, that's a lie.

Mizzou is playing a FCS team once again. If history is any indication, Mizzou will win with a score around 44-8. That's the average of the last six games Mizzou has played against FCS opponents -- yeah, they're 6-0.

Dave Matter of the Columbia Tribune addresses this topic this morning and he makes a good point: Why schedule FCS opponents?

You get no reward for beating them. People aren't impressed if you beat them -- you're expected to beat this lower division by 5, 6 sometimes even 7 touchdowns. If you don't annihilate them, then you're Kansas. OK, it's not that bad but you know what I mean.

Mizzou's neighbors to the west have probably given them reason enough not to blow this game. Kansas is a national joke right now after losing to North Dakota State. Mizzou's likely not going to overlook McNeese State after that.
