The Kansas Jayhawks had been going through a quarterback controversy recently. Here's a run down of the story:
- Kale Pick and Jordan Webb went through camp battling for the starting job
- Turner Gill names Pick the starter for North Dakota State
- Pick looks bad and KU loses to North Dakota State
- Webb is named the starter against Georgia Tech
And that brings us to today.
Webb's numbers on the day: 18/29 for 179 yards and three touchdowns. He's credited with an interception too but it was clearly not his fault.
Basically Webb secured himself the job for a while. Since Webb is just a redshirt freshman, and he's going to be around for a while, it's probably in Gill's best interests to give him the job and not yank it away even if he has a bad game.
