Thomas Jones, Jamaal Charles Arrangement Doesn't Seem To Make Sense

Last week against the San Diego Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs running backs Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles each had 11 carries. Jones put up 39 yards while Charles had 92 yards.

This week against the Cleveland Browns, you would think the Chiefs head coach may want to give Charles the ball more since he was so successful last week. Nope...Charles again got just 11 carries.

↵

Meanwhile Thomas Jones carried the ball 24 times, more than double Charles' carries.

↵

Asked after the game, Charles said he knew his role as a "backup".

Many people picked Charles as the breakout player of the year...now he's a backup? It's a strange setup in Kansas City.
