Tough Break For Kale Pick: KU QB Out Three Weeks With Leg Injury

Kansas QB Kale Pick isn't having a very good season.

He battled Jordan Webb for the starting quarterback job in camp and took the start in Week 1 against North Dakota State.

And, well ... you all know what happened against North Dakota State.

The story from there is that Pick was replaced by Webb, who then threw three touchdowns in a big upset of Georgia Tech. Webb kept the job and Pick was relegated to backup duty.

He won't be backing up Pick for at least another three weeks. KU football head coach Turner Gill confirmed reports that Pick had suffered a leg injury. Multiple reports are saying it's a broken leg. Mizzou DE Aldon Smith broke his fibula and is out three weeks so it's possible it's an injury like that.

Pick completed one pass for 15 yards and rushed the ball once in the fourth quarter of KU's blowout win. On his rushing play, he came up limping but snapped the ball to run out the clock.

It appears that limp was the "leg injury" and he'll be out three weeks.

Tough break for Pick.
