Kansas City Chiefs Hire New President, Field One Of Top Executive Teams

The Kansas City Chiefs elevated Mark Donovan to president of the club on Thursday which is a move many expected to happen.

Denny Thum left the Chiefs suddenly following the first game of the 2010 season and we never heard about a replacement for him. Donovan was the odds-on favorite at the time and that's what the Chiefs will do.

The Chiefs have the top of the organization set now: GM Scott Pioli handles football operations, Donovan handles business operations and Clark Hunt oversees them both.

"Mark has been a critical member of the organization since joining us in May of 2009, and I am delighted to promote him to president," Hunt said. "With Mark directing the business operations of the Chiefs and Scott Pioli running the football operations, I believe we have one of the finest executive teams in professional sports."

It's hard to disagree with Hunt there after the football operations went from last place to first place this year. I've heard very good things about Donovan so the Chiefs are in good hands.
