For the second time this week, the Missouri Tigers football team lost a star player to the NFL. QB Blaine Gabbert declared for the draft earlier this week and today DE Aldon Smith announcing he was leaving Missouri and heading to the NFL.
"I'd like to thank everyone at Mizzou for supporting me," said Smith. "The coaches, our fans and alumni, everyone has been great, and they've definitely helped me get to this point. It's been my dream for as long as I can remember to play in the NFL, so this is something I'm really excited for," he said.
Once the NFL Combine comes along we'll start to get a better idea of where teams are projecting Smith. Both Gabbert and Smith submitted their names to the NFL advisory board to find out their draft projection and both players decided to go pro. That means their content with their projection at least.
