The New York Jets are certainly hurting today in their backfield with both of their top running backs out for the day. LaDanian Tomlinson has been listed out with an illness, so there’s no further details at this time. Their younger starter Shonn Greene has now also left the game against the San Diego Chargers with an ankle injury on a play that he wasn’t touched — apparently making a cut that didn’t quite work right.
For now that means Joe McKnight is in the game. McKnight only has 7 carries for 15 yards so far this season, so he’s an unknown at this point. As a rookie last season, McKnight, who is out of USC, had 189 rushing yards last season
