Henry Josey Among Doak Walker Finalists

There’s another name emerging in the conversation for the nation’s top running back in college football. While most of the conversation has centered on Trent Richardson of Alabama, LaMichael James of Oregon or David Wilson of Virginia Tech, Henry Josey of Missouri is quietly earning notice around the nation. The latest sign is Josey’s name being on a list of semi-finalists for the Doak Walker Award, giving annually to the nation’s top running back.

Josey leads the Big 12 in rushing thus far with 1,149 yards and 9 touchdowns in 134 carries for an incredible 8.6 yards/carry average — tops in the nation. Most impressively is that he’s come up big in games against Oklahoma and Texas A&M, rising to the occasion when his team needs him most.

The Doak Walker Award will be handed out on February 17, 2012.
