Gary Pinkel DWI: Coach Might Be Suspended For Final Two Games

The Columbia Tribune's Dave Matter has a source indicating that Missouri football coach Gary Pinkel will be suspended for the final two games of the regular season, a home game against Texas Tech and what may be the final "Border War" game with Kansas:

A source with knowledge of the situation indicated Pinkel will not coach Saturday's game against Texas Tech and will serve the same penalty handed down to players arrested for DWI, which has typically been a two-game suspension. Missouri (5-5, 3-4 Big 12) finishes the regular season against Kansas Nov. 26 in Kansas City.

Pinkel suspended senior TE Beau Brinkley and LB Will Ebner for the first two games of the season after both players received off-season DWI's.

Missouri, at 5-5 after beating Texas last weekend, needs only one more win to reach bowl eligibility. The good news for the Tigers is that their last two games are against two of the most disappointing teams in the Big 12.

The Red Raiders, after shocking Oklahoma in Norman three weeks ago, have lost their last three games by a combined score of 159-33. The Jayhawks, meanwhile, have lost eight straight games and have won only one Big 12 game in Turner Gill's two years in Lawrence.
