It doesn’t matter whose votes you are counting — from Pete Prisco to Will Brinson — every CBS Sports writer is picking the same team for Monday Night’s match-up between the New England Patriots and the visiting Kansas City Chiefs. And it’s not the team starting Tyler Palko for the first time.
The Chiefs face a major uphill climb on Monday Night Football against the Patriots. Tom Brady can take over the NFL record for most passing yards through 10 games if he approaches 300 on Monday, a sign of just how prolific Brady has been to targets like Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski, each of whom are approaching NFL career marks of their own.
As for the Chiefs, they’ve lost Matt Cassel for several games, if not the season, due to a hand injury that occurred during Sunday’s loss to the Broncos. They’ve also lost Eric Berry on defense and Jamaal Charles and Tony Moeaki on offense for the season as well. It’s been a frustrating season for the Chiefs who could be taking advantage of a conference that’s upside-down this season. Instead, they’re contributing to the drama.
