Bowl Projections 2011: Oklahoma State Predicted To Play LSU In Sugar Bowl

To see a projection that says that Oklahoma State will be playing against the LSU Tigers is to potentially believe they’re in the national championship game. If this projection holds true after Saturday’s epic match-up between the SEC powers of LSU and Alabama, then that’s a possibility. For now, the SB Nation Bowl Projections have Oklahoma State finishing at 11-1 (same as LSU) and has the two programs meeting in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Whoever loses the big game on Saturday will have to settle for another top tier BCS bowl for sure, but there’s no reason to believe that Oklahoma State has to lose another game. They’ve dominated all season long and they’ve done it with both their offense and their defense. If the passing game of Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon is shut down, then the running game has kicked in. It’s possible they could face Alabama (in this instance).

Still, the projections have Andrew Luck and Stanford in that role and that’s a possibility. But the USC game made the team look normal again despite the win. There’s still a lot of football left.
