Perhaps at one point in this college football season, the thought of playing in the Cotton Bowl would have been a letdown for the Kansas State football team. After all, when you’re undefeated and hoping for a shot at the title game, anything less would be looked down upon. But from the bigger picture, the latest Bowl Projections have to make Bill Snyder and his Wildcats team very happy given that hardly anyone saw the team doing so well before this season even began.
The South Carolina Gamecocks are the planned opponent for the Wildcats in a match-up that would commence on January 6 in the Cotton Bowl. The Gamecocks are ranked No. 12 in the country currently (before this week’s rankings are out) and just beat Citadel over the weekend to move to 9-2 on the season and 6-2 in the SEC. The only losses came in a close battle against Auburn and then a couple of weeks ago against Arkansas.
The Gamecocks face Clemson in a major showdown of SEC powers next week.
