Adrian Peterson Injury Update: Vikings RB Out For Rest Of Raiders Game

The Minnesota Vikings have already fallen behind to the Oakland Raiders 9-7. Now the worst news comes from NFL reporter Jason LaCanfora that star running back Adrian Peterson has been lost for the rest of a game with an ankle injury that happened in the first quarter. He was helped off of the field earlier and was sitting on a cart. Now it’s clear that Toby Gerhart and Lorenzo Booker are going to have to man the offensive backfield in his absence.

For both the Vikings and fantasy football owners, this situation is the worst one possible. The Vikings are limited offensively already a rookie quarterback in Christian Ponder, who has already thrown one interception today. Peterson ended the game with 6 rushes for 26 yards. It remains to be seen what offensive wrinkles the Vikings can bring but Percy Harvin is going to have to be more valuable than ever. Thus far, Harvin has already received three receptions and three rushes, so he’s going to have a career game if they’re to beat the Raiders.
