AP Top 25: Kansas Jayhawks Basketball Team Places No. 14 On Latest Rankings

The Kansas Jayhawks are the only team with a loss amidst the top 15 teams in the latest AP Top 25 College Basketball Rankings. Perhaps that’s because they’re the one team that’s taken a giant risk thus far this season. With their showdown against No. 2 Kentucky just last week, Bill Self took a team that many feared was too thin and short on impact talent to compete and kept UK on their heels until the second half. It’s a game to learn from and grow from.

The Jayhawks are now at No. 14 overall in the rankings and now play another good string of games in the EA Sports Maui Invitational. Tonight they play Georgetown and then the winner (or loser) of UCLA vs. Chaminade. If it seems the Jayhawks have a target on their back, well, that’s because they do after years and years of dominating the Big 12.

Right now they are second in the rankings among Big 12 teams behind No. 8 Baylor.
