The Missouri Tigers are moving to the SEC soon enough and the baseball team gets an instant feel for the conference with the opening of their baseball schedule, just announced last night. The Tigers open the season on February 17, 2012 with a three game set against Auburn for the supremacy of the Tiger nickname. The schedule is light on the front end before conference play with various series scheduled with North Dakota, High Point, Ball State and Central Arkansas among others. That stretch also includes 19 consecutive home games.
Mizzou closes out the year against Memphis and then Kansas on May 19. The Big 12 tournament is set to begin on May 23. Tim Jamieson enters the year with a 480–329–2 and hopes the experience gained last year by playing so many players (only two seniors were on the Tigers baseball team last year) will help in bringing some consistency to the team in 2012.
