The Milwaukee Brewers are at least trying to soften the blow. Given the likely loss of Prince Fielder to free agency and the possible suspension due to alleged PED abuse by Ryan Braun, the Brewers line-up will be considerably less threatening. Yet reports are that the Brew Crew have signed former Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez to a three year deal that should have fans happy to see some additional power bring brought into town.
The Brewers will have enough pitching to keep them within range of the division lead in an ever-weakening NL Central, but it’s also clear that they needed help so that the gap didn’t become too much in case Ryan Braun has to sit out 50 games. The addition of Ramirez, who has 30 homer power, will definitely help at the hot corner.
Ramirez hit 26 home runs with 93 RBI while batting .306 just last season.
