The latest NFL Mock Draft is out for 2012 and Ryan Van Bibber of SB Nation thinks that the Kansas City Chiefs will seek offensive line help with their first round draft choice. Specifically, he has the No. 12 pick overall going for Jonathan Martin, an offensive tackle out of Stanford.
Van Bibber writes, “Martin can play either tackle spot, giving Kansas City some flexibility. He does know how to protect the quarterback, and can give Jamaal Charles some room to work on the outside.” That would certainly help a Chiefs team dealing with the persistent presence of Barry Richardson on the right side or it could even move Branden Albert somewhere, depending on what the incoming Chiefs coach wanted to do.
It’s certainly a position of need and Martin is a safe choice. The Stanford tackle would be a welcome addition in KC.
