Mike Silver Remembers Former Chiefs Linebacker Lew Bush

Yahoo! Sports writer Mike Silver always has a must-read column for all things NFL, but today’s was especially meaningful for Kansas City Chiefs fans as the columnist reflected back on his days covering the San Diego Chargers and remembering former Chargers and Chiefs linebacker Lew Bush who died unexpectedly last Thursday.

He writes, “Lew Bush, an intelligent, personable and skilled linebacker for the San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs, who died Thursday after suffering an apparent heart attack at the age of 42. Bush was always candid and levelheaded when doing interviews; beyond that, he was a strong, secure, likeable human being to whom I would have gravitated in any context. He is the seventh member of the 1994 San Diego Chargers – a team whose unlikely Super Bowl journey was thoroughly enjoyable to cover – to die way too young, and it makes me very, very sad. Please join me in extending thoughts and prayers to his loved ones.”
