Kansas City Royals Sign Four Players To Minor League Deals

The Kansas City Royals are not only rounding out the major league roster, but they’re also thinking about the lower levels as well. As they still search around for additional bullpen help as well as a utility player and possible front line starter, the Royals have also announced the signing of four players to minor league deals.

As Ben Nicholson-Smith reports, “The Royals announced that they signed right-hander Juan Gutierrez, left-hander Francisley Bueno, catcher Max Ramirez and outfielder Greg Golson to minor league deals. Golson appeared in nine games with the Yankees in 2011, but they released him last week. Ramirez didn’t play in the Major Leagues in 2011, but he has MLB experience with the Rangers.”

Gutierrez pitched the last three years for the Arizona Diamondbacks and has a career 4.79 ERA. He’s a live arm that might stick in the pen if given a chance in spring training.
