The one transaction that’s easiest to predict this week is that the Green Bay Packers will be signing help at the offensive tackle position. That’s because today’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs cost them a couple. First round pick Derek Sherrod went down in the second half after taking over for an injured Bryan Bulaga and was carted off the field. After the game, the results of his injury became clear.
The AP reports, “Sherrod was blocking near the end of a pass play when Hali slammed into his leg. It buckled at a gruesome angle and Sherrod remained down on the turf while trainers tended to him. His left knee was eventually put in an air cast and he was taken off the field on a cart. The team initially said he hurt his knee. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said after the game that Sherrod had broken his leg.”
