Former Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel is apparently not going to be a casualty of a new regime as Urban Meyer has announced his new coaching staff at Ohio State will include Vrabel staying on as linebackers coach. It cannot hurt to have such a storied player on the coaching staff — one that can point to multiple Super Bowl rings from his time with the New England Patriots when hanging out with recruits.
Vrabel left the NFL in 2010 after two seasons with the Chiefs and played with the Steelers and Patriots for the rest of his long and distinguished career. The linebacker finished with 704 tackles, 57 sacks and 11 interceptions in his career. He is a one-time Pro Bowl selection and a member of the 50th Anniversary All Patriot Team.
