Last night, the Memphis Grizzlies’ point guard position took a bit of a hit with the loss of Mike Conley just 24 seconds into the game with a sprained ankle. The depth chart behind Conley is rather thin, with the newly signed Jeremy Pargo, a former Gonzaga star, and Kansas’ own Josh Selby behind him. In other words, Selby might soon receive more playing time than he realized.
Selby’s stint at KU was certainly not what anyone wanted it to be, including Selby himself, but he started the season late and had injury concerns throughout. If anything, Kansas (or anyone else for that matter) has yet to see what a healthy and ready Josh Selby can do. It will be interesting to see if he can step up for the Grizzles and take away some playing time on a team expected to make major waves in the Western Conference this season.
