The Oklahoma City Thunder withstood a fast start by the Dallas Mavericks and came away with a 56-52 lead at the half. Dallas only turned the basketball over four times in the first half.
Kevin Durant scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed six rebounds in the first half. Serge Ibaka finished with 11 points and six boards while James Harden came off the bench to score 11 points. The first half was a mixed bag for point guard Russell Westbrook who finished with seven points and four assists but was just 2-7 from the field and turned it over four times. Oklahoma City hit a sizzling 61 percent of their shot attempts in the first half.
Dirk Nowitzki had his best first half of the young season with 14 points and four rebounds. Delonte West chipped in eight points while Jason Terry hit two threes off the bench for six points.
