The Kansas City Chiefs have been fairly injury free for the 2011 season, but on Saturday night the Chiefs placed backup running back Jackie Battle on the injured reserve due to an foot injury in last Sunday's overtime loss to Oakland. Battle did not practice at all this week and was wearing a walking boot.
Battle gained a larger roll when starter Jamaal Charles tore his ACL back in Week 2 and Battle ended up leading the team in rushing with 597 yards and scored two touchdowns this season.
With Battle's season now over, the Chiefs signed running back Shaun Draughn from the practice squad for Week 17 against the Denver Broncos. Draughn has been on the Chiefs practice squad since Week 5. Draughn will be the third running back behind Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster.
