Patrick Willis Injured: Likely Out For Game WIth Hamstring Injury

This is going to shift a lot of the defensive pressure onto former Missouri defensive star Aldon Smith today for the San Francisco 49ers. That’s because the reports from Tim Kawakami are that Patrick Willis, the 49ers star linebacker, is possibly out for the rest of today’s game after injuring his hamstring. With both Willis and Smith, among others, the Niners pass rush has often been a major disruptor on the field and helped the team to the NFC West lead and a very likely playoff spot.

For the year, Willis has 93 tackles with 4 forced fumbles and 1 interception. He also has two sacks on the year. Smith has 7.5 sacks on the year and 1 forced fumble. This means Ahmad Brooks is also going to have to step up for the Niners. The good news is that they’re playing the St. Louis Rams.
