The Big 12 have only one candidate among this year's Heisman Trophy finalists and it's not Brandon Weeden or Justin Blackmon. Instead, the dynamic Robert Griffin III made the finalists list and rightfully so. After all, Griffin has had an unbelievable season in the Big 12, throwing for 36 touchdowns and nearly 4,000 yards while rushing for another 9 touchdowns.
Montee Ball of Wisconsin is also another Heisman candidate alongside the presumed No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft in Stanford's Andrew Luck. Trent Richardson of Alabama was the best running back in the country this year and he's represented and in a surprise, albeit a well-deserved one, Tyrann Mattieu from LSU was also included. His return ability alongside his incredible defensive prowess as the best defensive back in the nation certainly warrants a mention.
Richardson ran for 1,583 yards this season and has 20 rushing touchdowns. Luck has thrown for 35 touchdowns for Stanford, while Ball has 1,785 yards and 32 touchdowns for Wisconsin.
