The Pittsburgh Steelers are entering the stretch run of their schedule and now is the time for a team on the rise to get hot. The Packers did it last year and the New York Giants succeeded in 2008 with the same rise. But now the Steelers will have to enter into the final quarter of the regular season and the key time for playoff positioning with question marks surrounding their Pro Bowl quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The latest from ESPN's Adam Schefter says that he might be injured worse than some realized.
Schefter writes, "Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, who will have an MRI on his ankle today, was spotted leaving the stadium last night in a walking boot." If Roethlisberger cannot play, then Charlie Batch is likely to start in his place. The team has to be careful with Big Ben if they really want to succeed in the playoffs. An older team has a bit less margin for error than in year's past and they'll need their QB to rise back to the Super Bowl once again in Indianapolis.
