NCAA Basketball Rankings: Kansas, Ohio State, Texas, Pittsburgh, Duke And No. Team

The latest NCAA basketball rankings will come out on Monday and we can honestly say we have no idea who will be the No. 1 team in the country. Last week, the Kansas Jayhawks claimed the top spot after the Ohio State Buckeyes lost their first game of the season. This week, though, the top four teams in the country all lost.

It started with No. 1 KU basketball, who lost to the Kansas State Wildcats on Big Monday, 84-68. A loss like that and it's hard to envision Kansas continuing on as the No. 1 team in the country.

No. 2 Ohio State went through most of the week unscathed but dropped a Sunday game to Purdue. This is their second loss in as many weeks so you may not want to put them at No. 1 either.

No. 3 Texas has been arguably the hottest team in the country since early January -- well, until their loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday. The Longhorns went into Lincoln with a chance to make a statement to be the No. 1 team and walked away with a 70-67 loss.

No. 4 Pittsburgh appeared to have an argument for No. 1 before they lost to St. John's over the weekend. Can they jump from No. 4 to No. 1 with a loss this week? I don't see it.

No. 5 Duke kept its record clean this week defeating Virginia and Georgia Tech. With the top four teams in the country losing last week, you have to think Duke is  contender for the top spot.

Then there's No. 6 San Diego State who has a strong 27-1 record with just one loss. They could jump up a few spots and they'll be tested quickly with a February 26 matchup with No. 7 BYU.

So who will be No. 1? Your guess is as good as mine because I don't remember a time when so many of the top teams in the country lost in the same week. The AP poll voters will earn their stripes this week.
