The Kansas Jayhawks announced on Monday that Tyshawn Taylor has been suspended for a violation of team rules. The details of the suspension -- reason and length -- aren't yet known. KU basketball tips off Monday evening against Oklahoma State at Allen Fieldhouse.
Here's what Kansas head coach Bill Self said in the release issued by the school:
"Although we are disappointed in Tyshawn, he will remain a member of our team and practice with our team until he is reinstated for competition," Self said in a release.
I don't know any details but that he's still practicing with the team is a good sign that he'll return this season.
Taylor has struggled at times as of late, particularly in KU's loss to Kansas State last week. He's started 26-of-27 games for the Jayhawks averaging 8.8 points per game and 4.7 assists per game.
Kansas is talented enough that this won't hurt them too much but of course it's always best to be at full strength.
