Wooden Award Finalists For Player Of Year Include KU's Marcus Morris, KSU's Jacob Pullen

The Big 12 has four members of the 20 finalists for the John Wooden Award for the country's top college basketball player. Included in the 20 names: Colorado Buffaloes G Alec Burks, Kansas Jayhawks F Marcus Morris, Kansas State Wildcats G Jacob Pullen and Texas Longhorns G/F Jordan Hamilton.

If picking from just the four BIg 12 players, this isn't an easy choice. Morris is the best player on the best team while Burks and Pullen had major games to keep Colorado and Kansas State alive (even if the selection committee showed Colorado no love). Hamilton averaged over 18 points and seven boards per game (and second team All-American) for the Longhorns, who were the best team in the conference much of the season.

All four of those guys were widely considered the top four candidates for Big 12 player of the year, which ultimately went to Morris.
