The new voice of the Oklahoma basketball and football games will be Toby Rowland, a 37-year old sideline reporter. He says he's landing his dream but it could have gone to someone Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas State fans know very well -- Mitch Holthus.
↵↵↵Among the big names interested in the job were Kansas City Chiefs radio voice Mitch Holthus, whom sources said was offered the job, and Washington Nationals TV announcer Bob Carpenter. In an email, Holthus complimented the Sooners on "a great hire. This is a hire for an entire generation of Sooner fans."

Holthus is identified with the Chiefs more than anything else, I think. I hope, whatever other jobs he takes, he's still with the Chiefs.
