Despite having just a 15-25 record so far, it was quite the evening of the Kane Country Cougars as they Royals Class A Affiliate defeated the Cedar Rapids Kernels 2-0 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Wednesday evening behind the no-hit effort of pitchers Sugar Ray Marimon and Chas Byrne.↵
Marimon, the starter, went 7 2/3 innings and allowed two walks on 101 pitches. Byrne retired the final four batters to earn the save for the Cougars.↵
Marimon is a 22 year old un-drafted free agent from Colombia who has been in the Kansas City system since 2006. Byrne, also 22, was a 16th round draft pick in 2010 out of East Tennessee State University.
