Mizzou Basketball Recruiting: Frank Haith Lands Power Forward Quantel Denson For 2012

After concentrating well into the future with his first two commitments, Missouri basketball head coach Frank Haith moves back one year to sign his first official recruit of the class of 2012 with power forward Quantel Denson. The 6-9, 230 lb. Denson is a Kansas City native and played at Hutchinson, Kan., Community College. He committed by phone just this morning.

The Tigers were in need of some experience according to Haith, and that's what he added this morning with a bigger body in Denson who is a solid rebounder and can hold his own on the defensive end. Denson averaged 6.5 points and 4 rebounds per game and started 21 of 33 games last season. Denson also played with NBA Draft entrant Alec Burks at Grandview High.

Earlier this off-season, Haith received early commits from Tyrek Coger and Ishmail Wainright for the class of 2013.
