Kansas City Royals Great Paul Splittorff Passes Away

As was mentioned a few weeks ago, former Royals great and longtime television broadcaster Paul Splittorff has been battling health issues in recent years. Today the Royals were saddened to announce that Splittorff has passed away at the age of 64.

A product of Iowa’s Morningside College, Splitt joined the Royals in 1970 beginning a lifetime relationship with the Royals and the Kansas City community. The lefty spent his entire big league career with the Royals, winning 166 games from 1970-1984. Splittorff is the all-time wins leader in Royals history.

Royals fans all around are saddened today as Kansas City lost not only a great player in their history, but a true ambassador to the game of baseball.
