The Kansas State baseball team has to be pleased with today’s official NCAA Tournament selection show on ESPN as they received an at-large bid after a season where they went 36-23 and went to the Big 12 semi-finals. As they head to the Corvallis, Oregon regional, they’ll take on the Stanford Cardinal in a match-up opposite Cal State Fullerton and Illinois.
Illinois is easily the weakest of the bunch, coming in just above a. 500 record at 28-25, so the favorite, CSF, should have a decent time of it against the Illini. The same cannot be said of the solid match-up of K-State versus Stanford. K-State is on a roll despite not being able to overcome Texas A&M in the Big 12 tournament, having won 5 of their last 7 games. Stanford can say the same however, going 11-4 to close out their regular season.
The Regionals are a double elimination tournament and will run from June 3-6.
