Actor Charlie Sheen Admits To Steroid Use When Filming Major League

In what may have been one of the more bizarre sports related stories of the week, it should come as no surprise it relates to actor Charlie Sheen.

According to recent reports that will be published in Sports Illustrated, Sheen admits to having used steroids for between 6 and 8 weeks back in 1989, as he was preparing to film the movie, Major League.

As you may remember, Sheen starred as Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn, a pitcher than went from the California Penal League to starring for the pennant chasing Cleveland Indians.

A pitcher in high school, Sheen saw his fastball go from 79 miles-per-hour to 85 while he was using steroids.

Some will show signs of skepticism at Sheen’s latest claim, but really Sheen has nothing to prove by telling everyone what he did, because his life has become an open book in recent months.

Also of note in the article, Sheen refers to Royals first basemen Eric Hosmer as a "monster".
