United States coach Bob Bradley made substitutions on his side in the second half, putting in many more veterans in the second half to save complete embarrassment at the hands of Spain, and the defense did look much better in the second half being able to hold Spain at bay, though Chelsea player Fernando Torres was able to get past the defense and toe a goal past keeper Tim Howard late in the match to make it a 4-0 final.
Offensively the United States did look much better after halftime as Clint Dempsey came on for the Americans, and was able to mix it up a bit in the mid field. The good news for the Stars and Stripes is that this match didn't mean as much as it will on Tuesday when the Americans head to Detroit to take on Canada in the first match of of the Gold Cup. Hopefully everyone is fit on Tuesday as Bradley's bunch can regroup for the important match.
