USA Soccer: Halftime in Gold Cup Debut As USMNT Leads Canada 1-0

In the final 30 minutes of the first half, the Americans continued attacking Canada and controlling possession. The United States frustrated Canada with six shots on goal, while Canada had just one. The constant pressure has also resulted in four American goal kicks, while Canada has just one of their own.

Canada had a chance in the 32nd minute as New York Red Bulls forward Dwayne De Rosario struck a solid kick from beyond the box that went wide right of the goal.

In the 39th, Juan Agudelo hit a shot from the right side of the box but Canadian keeper Lars Hirschfeld was there for the save.

Overall a quality first half from Bob Bradley's bunch, especially needing a result after the Spain debacle on Saturday. Look for the United States to continue pressing the ball up field and try to take a 2-0 lead early in the second half.
