Missouri Linebacker Will Ebner Pleads Guilty To MIP Charge

Will Ebner, a senior linebacker on the Missouri football team, pleaded guilty Thursday to a reduced charge of being a minor in possession of alcohol. He was originally charged last summer for driving while intoxicated.

Ebner was arrested August 22 in Columbia in connection with the incident last summer, and he served a two-game suspension to begin the 2010 season.

Now 21, Ebner was immediately taken to jail, where he was to spend two days, after pleading to the reduced charge. He also was fined $200.

The senior linebacker had 47 tackles as a junior, but spent most of last season banged up with a series of injuries, including a foot injury for which he had surgery in the offseason to repair a cracked bone in his left foot.

In 2009, Ebner’s sophomore season, he was honorable mention All-Big 12.
