Accolades Continue To Roll In For Royals Prospect Johnny Giavotella

On Thursday, AAA Omaha second basemen Johnny Giavotella was named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Month for June. Last week, we had named him as our Royals minor league hitter of the month.

The 23 year-old Giavotella has really impressed so far this season at the plate, hitting .398 with 4 home runs and 25 RBI during June.

For the season Giavotella is batting .321 with 7 home runs and 61 RBI. He has 25 doubles to go along with 9 stolen bases.

With numbers like that, it won’t be too long before we see Giavotella with the big league club. Most fans have been calling for it to happen for quite awhile.

After his mosnter first half of the season, Giavotella will be starting the AAA All-Star game on July 13th, along with Clint Robinson. Pitcher Luis Mendoza was also selected to the team.
